Relationship

Pioneer Memorial Church-October 2022 to date

Conducted and facilitated Youth Sabbath School Lesson review on a frequent basis.  This was a wonderful experience in interacting and bonding with the young people and finding interactive ways of conveying the lesson.

Was also a Greeter for the Children’s Sabbath School. This involved assisting parents in checking their children in, and directing them. This helped with developing relationship with parents as well as the children. These are important constituents of my future ministry and this was useful expereince.

Also a volunteer at the Busy Bee Adventurer class. We did various activities such as arts and crafts and games which applied the lesson being taught.  This will help me going forward as I hone my skills of interatcting with kids.

AY Associate Leader-January 2020

Full support to AY Leaders in all aspects of the AY Program.  Working as part of the administrative team for all the youth activities of the central Adventist church in the Cayman Islands. Duties include the planning and execution of programs geared towards the development of the young people of the church.

This will be a vital part of my ministry going forward as I relate to the young people of my church and find interesting ways to capture their attention and direct them to the gospel. Also teaching them to be enthusiastically involved in church activity.  This experience also showed be the important role of being a support and will no doubt be repeated in the future ministry.

VBS Counselor and Prayer coordinator-August 2018-2019

Offering prayer  and general council at prayer station to children and parents who attended the sessions.  My fellow volunteers also sought prayer and counsel.

This helped me in relating to both parents and children and being attune to their different needs as we prayed together. This will be a part of my ministry going forward.

Mamawi Atosketan Native School-2019-2020

This is a  program organized by the Burman University Student Outreach Team.   Ministering to the Maskwicis First Nations Community.  We traveled about 2 hours each Sabbath to the Mamawi Atosketan Native School where we ministered to children by way of bible stories, songs, scriptures Introducing them to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We also coordinated serving the children and prepare the facilities at both the beginning and end of the day.

This heightened my appreciation of different people and cultures and how important it is to relate to them in their context.  This will help in my ministry as I face a multinational congregation and lovingly convey the gospel to them.

Pathfinders-2014 -2017

This  included visiting, singing and  praying for Shut-ins, the sick in hospitals and the need in my community of the Cayman Islands.  Also quarterly distribution of grocery items to an orphanage, and the needy in my community and   assisting with the Soup Kitchen distribution of my local Church.  I also supervised swimming honors camps with the younger pathfinders.

This part of my ministry will continue as I reach out to the elderly and children in my congregation.  The importance of meeting the physical needs of the community will be emphasised as I proceed in my career.
