Its Time Evangelistic Ministry > 7 Core Qualities > Leadership
Over the Christmas Break in the Cayman Islands I was privileged to be asked by Pastor Moises Espinosa to help out in the Divine Service. This included Pastoral Prayers, Welcome and presenting the Christmas Day Message.
Meet with Chap D to discuss functioning in this role. Being a part of this team has shaped my awareness of team building and how being a part of a spirit filled team can enhance the delivery of the gospel.
The prayer board was a part of my responsibility.
Unfortunately, when the current platform coordinator had a medical emergency, I took the role over from him. I drafted a run sheet for all three sessions and selected participants (excluding panelists and keynote speakers) for each session (such as people to pray and panelist introductions).
I delegated tasks to other platform team members and reported the platform team’s progress at our weekly planning committee meetings.
I myself stepped into various roles if participants were not in attendance.
Which involved attending board meetings, arranging the platform party for sabbath Devine Services. Motivating and encouraging young people to take part in the activities of the church.
These are functions which will continue in my ministry and the experience at a young age was useful and also enhance my love for the work of the church.
This consisted of directly assisting the AY Leader in worship planning, organizations services, mentoring, encouraging, disciplining young people, helping them to identify their spiritual gifts.
From the age of 7 years, I have been actively involved in formal church services such as: scripture readings, offertory, prayers, opening and closing songs, sabbath school, children’s stories, mission stories, etc. I have also assisted the personnel ministry, children’s division, and youth and community services departments. I have been blessed to participate in nearly every role relating to the services of the church from a very early age.
I thank the Lord, my Savior, for this privilege.
